12 teams entered, and the competition was structured as follows:

Matches consisted of 5 eight ball overs. Each player (except the wicket keeper) must bowl.

wide/no ball = 4 runs, plus any additional runs scored with NO extra ball

6 matches were drawn randomly. The winners of these first round matches Progressed into the SHEILD competition. The losers of the first round matches then competed in the PLATE competition. The two closest losers also progressed into the sheild. This meant...

8 teams were in the sheild competition (quarter finals, semi finals, and final)

4 teams were in the plate competition (Semi finals, final)

after a long day. Hopkinstown were the eventual winners of the Sheild, beating Whitchurch heath in the Finals.
